What do we all look for? A nice place to live, a nice car, a wonderful partner we love, maybe some wonderful children, a great job that pays well and that we enjoy, a chance to enjoy holidays.
So what do we need to achieve these things. Most people would say simply: Money, Love, Luck, Freedom is what we are talking about here. As people, many of us achieve one goal after another and we simply move onto the next one. We move from Goal to Goal, seeking to get better all the time, never looking back and noticing how far we’ve come. Richard (Bandler) always suggests that to get better, it’s good to compare yourself by how much better you have already gotten. That way your focus makes you go in the right direction.

There are plenty of theories out there on depression and plenty of ideas on solutions. Anything from... SMILE MORE to getting into the deep neurosis of your hidden sexual repressed fantasies about your mother. Every year, many people in Ireland and throughout the world, still committ suicide and still suffer terribly from Depression.
When I first trained with the Samaritans, I took issue with one particular thing that they taught. They advised that you would often ask the person have they contemplated suicide.. I was concerned that bringing up the thought might be hazardous to their health. I now realise however that CLIENTS are FAR LESS DELICATE than I had always been led to believe.

Blaine's Act of Inspiration |
David Blaine’s recent feat succeeded in one thing: attracting massive media attention. Many were impressed and proud of David, many were appalled and disgusted. Many said that it showed the endurance of the human spirit, many said it was just another illusion. Personally, I’m of the opinion that it was a genuine act of endurance. That’s just my opinion. |

NLP & Everything Else: My Opinion |

I'm not defending NLP. I just wanna clear up some of the nonsense I've been in contact with recently!!!
In browsing through the web recently, I came across a number of articles that were attacking NLP. Some called it 'plain epistemology' rather than a more dramatic ontological approach. Some claimed that it was now redundant compared to (quite strangely) the author of the articles new approach. It is funny. Each article was written so convuluently that I got flash backs to Psychology in college. |

Having just returned on my trip around the world, I felt it appropriate to discuss something which became evident to me while away: Character. To me, our character is who we truly are. It’s not fluid and changing like our identity or self-concept, nor dependent on others like our reputation and image… instead it represents our values, our principles and our person. |

Stepping Out of Bad States |

Wrong side of bed in the morning!!! One of those days!!! I just woke up pissed off!!! How many times do you feel this way or hear someone describing things like this? My guess is too many. Sometimes, for no apparent reason, we just feel bad… we can’t explain it, it just happens. There is no rationale or reason… but that still doesn’t mean we can’t do anything about it. |

Healing Heart Break
Recently a friend of mine broke up with his girlfriend of three years. He was head over heels in love with her still. She left him for another guy. He saw no warning sign and felt she felt the same way. She had been cheating on him for a long time. His heart is broken and he wasn’t able to eat, sleep or get out of bed. He had been like this for a week. He called in sick to work and he spent his time listening to love songs at home crunched up in bed staring at his pictures of her, shouting curses, crying, pulling at his hair, regretting the mistakes he made, wishing he could turn the clock back. |

Asking the Right Questions |
Asking the Right Questions There is so much knowledge available to us, so much that we can learn, understand, use. Every day millions of people across the world enter book stores and buy books which promise to help them make their lives better. Most people buy such books, read a couple of pages and go out and buy more books. While many books do indeed have little useful information inside of them, many people develop an addiction to HAVING such books without actually USING such books. It's almost like they expect by Osmosis that the infomation will creep out of their books at night and sneak into their brains while they sleep. |

Developing the Laughter Filter |
Developing the Laughter Filter Imagine one simple secret that could help you deal with any situation in life more resourcefully and effectively than ever before. Well it comes from humour. You think I’m joking? Don’t make me laugh.
When I modelled Billy Connolly and Eddie Izzard a few years ago, one of the things I became fascinated with as I watched many other comedians, was the ability they had to turn ordinary experiences into hilarious laughter. I realised what great performers actually do. In a nutshell, Great performers take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. |

Moving Ahead with Language |
Moving Ahead with Language I was recently attempting to explain the principle of tag questions and time predicates to my cousin who has no background of NLP and I realised how simplistic it sounded when the explanation of how language affects the brain is not provided. |

Educating is a verb not a noun |
Education is a Verb not a Noun There has been much reporting about the structure of the Irish Education System and how it must develop and change with the worldwide global revolution that is taking place. Inside the corridors, classrooms and lecture rooms of Irish educational establishments there are some horrifying inconsistencies, which are never mentioned but must urgently be addressed.
