True Love is the topic of this month and pretty adept too, given valentines day. However, when I mention true love I am not purely talking about the love we feel for our partners or spouses. I am talking about something far greater than that. You see, recently, I got a perspective on true love and what it really means and I want to share it with you because I think it can help you make sense of life more.

Probably one of the most popular books out there in the self development market is a book entitled 'The Power of Now'. What I wanted to talk about this month was the power of NOW, BEFORE and NEXT. Although I think the book is a fantastic book and highly recommend it, I want to add some more ideas which I believe you will find useful to keep in mind.

Myself and Brian have worked with people with all kinds of problems over the years. We have helped people overcome anything from serious depression, intense panic attacks, 'flaming' phobias and immense stress. When we teach people in seminars how to use NLP, we are really teaching them how to deal with their own problems. Using the basic of NLP, you can overcome most of the problems that you have. Unfortuantely so many people love the idea of 'NLP' but do not use it to turn their lifes around. So often we do all that we can simply to get people to use the skills we teach rather than discuss the wonderful world of NLP.

One of the things which I have found being of great importance is the archetypical energies of strength and weakness, of fierceness and tenderness. I went to a seminar with Steven Gilligan who brought to my attention the need to create balance between such energies. Many people find themselves suffering because they are too 'tender' and let other people walk all over them. Others present themselves as being too 'fierce' and therefore their relationships suffer.

One of the most important lessons I learned from Jim Rohn was about the seasons of life. In what is, for many, described as the most important season of the year: Winter… I decided to examine the seasons of life from my own NLP perspective.

Basically the theory goes that just like the seasons of our world change, so too does the seasons of our life. We all have summers, where everything seems to go well.. we do what we want to do and despite the odd threat and challenge, we enjoy things as we are being successful. Next comes autumn when the hard times begin to appear. We can see the threat occurring and sometimes we don’t choose to think about it. What we’ve harvested in good times now begins to be threatened and challenge comes our way.
