Here are some tips for you to be able to look after yourself better.
1) FIND OUT WHAT YOU NEED TO DO AND WANT TO DO AND RECORD IT. Write down the different things you have to do and the different things you want to do and record them in a journal or notebook. Set them up with priorities.
2) DECIDE ON YOUR TIMETABLE AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE TWO SECTIONS FREE REGULARLY IN YOUR DIARY: YOU TIME AND BETTER YOU TIME. You Time is the time that you give to yourself to relax and do nothing to do with work. This includes you enjoying some hobby and it can be anything from watching tv to internet surfing to playing a musical instrument. Better You Time is time you spend doing something which improves you in some way. This could range from studying spanish to learning NLP to going to the gym.
3) GET TO BED EARLY AT LEAST FOUR NIGHTS A WEEK AND WAKE UP THE SAME TIME EACH DAY WITH MAYBE ONE SLEEP IN DAY. Regardless of how much you have to do, sleep is essential and good sleep is important. Don't read or write or go on the computer in bed. You want the bed associated with only two activities... sex or sleep.
4) QUIT OVERANALYSING THINGS Give your brain more of a rest by avoiding over-analysing or over-thinking about anything. The more you do so the worse you may feel so it's important to give yourself a break and keep your mind busy on other things.
5) RELAX IN WHATEVER WAY YOU DO. If you feel relaxed while you are jogging or playing football then thats good for you. Don't attempt to fulfil your relaxation quota by meditation if you don't enjoy it. People have different energies. Relax the way you enjoy to not how people tell you.
6) EAT HEALTHY, REGULARLY AND AVOID TOO MUCH OF ANY TOXIC SUBSTANCES. Eating healthy does not mean you have to ascribe to one diet fad or another. It simply means that you pay attention to what you eat and you make sure you eat healthy foods.... like fruit and vegetables and cut down on unhealthy foods like chocolate and cakes. It's not rocket science. Also ease up on alcohol and take a break from it every once and a while for a few weeks.
7) LEARN TO SAY NO AND BE OK WITH IT. One of the most important lessons you can ever learn is not to take on too much. In this modern world, most of us feel that we can do enormous amounts and we can... just make sure that the sacrifices you are making are worth it. |
