'The 33 Strategies of War ’ by Robert Greene The 33 Strategies of War is Greenes third book fo the same kind and shares certain common elements.Although he uses many extreme examples to explain his points and many of them seem very machavellian and cut throat, there are some great ideas to ponder again in this book. The key with Greenes books are to forget about the book as a whole and it's morale standing and instead look at what useful bits of advice are contained within in dealing more effectively with other people.
RICH DAD, POOR DAD by Robert Kiyosaki & Sharon Letcher Rich dad, poor dad is a best seller and for good reason. The book provides you with ideas and understandings which help inspire and teach you some secrets to becoming wealthy. Robert offers a guide through retelling two main philosophies which he received from his two 'dads'. He shows us how traditional education does not show us the way to weath and he provides an alternative way of living a wealthy and prosperous existence. Definitely recommended if you want to become richer!! Success by Richard Hall Success by Richard Hall is a nicely laid out book with plenty of good ideas about success. Halls style is very easy to read and he makes quite a lot of success. The tasks and strategies he offers I would recommend to any coach or indeed person interested in becoming more successful in life. Put this one in your Christmas Stocking!!! How to have a Beautiful Mind by Edward De Bono Although not an official synopsis of many of his main ideas, in this new book by De Bono I found many of his excellent ideas compacted nicely. De Bono is one of those writers that can't help but give you the chance to open your mind up to more ways of thinking which can be highly useful in terms of your creativity and imagination. I highly recommend this book. Learning Spanish with Michel Thomas Michel Thomas Although normally I dedicate this review to more NLP or NLP related books or products, I just had to talk about a product which I recently was recommended by a friend. Learning Spanish with Michel Thomas is one of the greatest learning resources I have ever bought into. No amount of praise for this product can be overdone in my opinion. Whether you get the introductory or the basic course, either way you'll be absolutely amazed at hopw quickly you cna pick uyp the language effortlessly. Thomas's method is highly unusual and is based on not trying to learn but just listening and repeating. After 3 cds I felt as confident in Spanish speaking as I had in speaking French after spenidng 5 years in school learning French. Sr Thomas is onto a great thing here. Sadly, I just heard that at over 90 years old he passed away. When more people find out about his method he will leave some wonderful legacy. If you want to learn a new language this is simply essential to begin with. Pure Genius. The Success Principles Jack Canfield This book written by an author of 'Chicken Soup for the Soul' is an excellent synopsis of the majority of self improvement ideas. Although it rarely touches on NLP, the book is large enough to include most ideas around the field of self help. The principles are sound and well known but it's an excellent chance to buy one book to familiarise yourself with all of them at once. After reading this book there will be very little left in the self help field that will seem very new. I recommend this book. THE EINSTEIN FACTOR DR WIN WENGER & RICHARD POE I recently attended a training with Wim Wenger and was impressed. This book offers you a great understanding of the main principles of his ideas and suggestions on creativity. Packed full of things to do and use and teach, the Einstein factor explores his notion of Image Streaming and Think Tanks. This book will make you more creative, more intelligent and more aware of the world. I highly recommend it. |
