This book is a well known classic on social skills. Much of it’s advice still applies today and most of it can be applied as equally to Ireland as it can to America. Some of the above suggestions come from the book and there is lots more on how people think about each other and how to use communication to enhance your relationships. It’s well worth having a look and a must-read for anyone in the communication business!!!

Desmond Morris
This book comes from one of the most well known experts on body language in the world, Desmond Morris. In this very comprehensive book, Morris accumulates some of the best research conducted in the area of body language and non-verbal communication. With lots of examples and extensive explanations, this book will provide you with an excellent advantage in understanding what people are saying without words. I highly recommend this book particularly as a reference manual on the elements on non-verbal influence.

Eats, Shites and Leaves by A. Parody
This book is a humourous book which takes a hilarious look at language and the problems that can happen with it's misuse. It offers plenty of examples of the ways people make eejits of themselves with their words. It also contains lots of funny ambiguities. Right the way through the book, you are provided with more and more awareness of language and the subtleties that exist within it. Highly recommended for a lover of words and anyone interested in becoming better with language.
