The Solution to Lifes Problems PDF Print E-mail
Myself and Brian have worked with people with all kinds of problems over the years. We have helped people overcome anything from serious depression, intense panic attacks, 'flaming' phobias and immense stress. When we teach people in seminars how to use NLP, we are really teaching them how to deal with their own problems. Using the basic of NLP, you can overcome most of the problems that you have. Unfortuantely so many people love the idea of 'NLP' but do not use it to turn their lifes around. So often we do all that we can simply to get people to use the skills we teach rather than discuss the wonderful world of NLP.

You see, for whatever reason, many people struggle with problems and then search frantically everywhere for something that will help them find solutions. Then when they find these solutions they do not always put them into place. Instead, they rely on things to 'somehow' come together or things to 'magically fall into place'. When we do a Life Enhancement seminar for example, we focus on using NLP tools to help people understand what they really want, overcome any challenges that prevent them from achieving their goals and design a plan towards accomplishing them into the future. That's why so many people describe it a s a life changing seminar. What most people forget is that they make it a life changing seminar. They make it that way by what they do and how they make it affect their lives.

In the last couple of weeks in my personal life there's been lots of events good and bad that have happened. The one common factor among all of them was that they were unexpected. It reminds me how unpredicatable life can become. The biggest truth that I try and get through to people is the importance of making every moment count in this world. Sometimes people get me and sometimes not. Often it is only the instance of death close to someone which gets them to really appreciate life. Is this necessary? Is it necessary for us to see the angel of death before we appreciate life and decide to make our lives as special as they deserve to be? Or can we really, truly live, be and exist fully in every moment in the best possible way? Can we be the best we can be more often?

We teach people so that they can have, as Richard Bandler calls it, personal freedom. We teach them skills which we learned that can help them become free from negative feelings, limiting beliefs and destructive habits which trap so many people into merely tolerating an existance. The problem is, if you are handed the keys, you still have to use them to open the door: not talk about how great the keys are or preach about how they feel free... but actually open the door and be free. This means becoming aware of how they think, behave or feel negatively and learning how to change that and then... CHANGING IT. It then means consistently taking the steps that are required to ensure these changes are made permanent.

Every day I wake up, I stop and remind myself that I am still alive and I consider all the things I have in my life that I love. That doesn't mean that I'm in a wonderful mood all the time. It means I am happy most of the time and, equally as importantly, I am living every second the best I can. You always have a choice. You can choose to go on a never ending search for who you truly are or enlightenment or eternal happiness or inner contentment OR you can realise that all of these factors are not something you can find.... they are only what you can create by learning to think, act, feel and live in a new way.

When you think in useful ways, when you use your brain to create good feelings inside of you on a regular basis, when you practise becoming better at communicating with other, when you change whatever behaviours haven't been working for you... THEN you will begin to discover what I've discovered: The beauty of tools like NLP is not in how much sense it makes nor the life it promises... but in the results you get from APPLYING it consistently in your own life.

We are born. People come into our lives. We spend time with those people. We develop love for them. We develop likes and dislikes. We experience opportunities and challenges. We die. Now in the time we have living on planet earth, the question is: HOW WILL WE LIVE? Will we live always searching for something better or perfection? Will we live always settling for less than we can be? Will we live in such a way that we will do our best and go for what we want and attempt to improve ourselves and our world a little more every day?

I don't care if you are new to NLP, a Practitioner, Master Practitioner or even a Coach.... I want to ask you to step back from your life for a second and consider: How could you be living even better? How could you be loving even better? How could you be loving life even better? How could you improve your own life? What do you need to do? So often we attempt to help other people while instead we suffer because, as I've heard some coaches say 'I'm too clever for the stuff to work because I know it'. The truth is that making a statement that stupid ironically proves that the opposite is more accurate.

Myself and Brian are far from perfect. What I'm NOT talking about is becoming an NLP robot. Far from it. Sometimes I recommend people stop doing any form of personal development because their biggest problem is thinking too much about themselves and their mental health. What I'm talking about is recognising that we can't control how many problems we have to deal with, we can only control how we deal with these problems. In the moments we have with ourselves, the best moments are those we spend enjoying our own company. In the moments we have with others, the best moments are those we spend enjoying their company and helping them enjoy ours. Regardless where we go and what we do... four things are certain... we will find opportunities and we will find challenges; We will meet people we get on with and people we don't. Since we know this it gives us a wonderful advantage. It gives us to chance to make our lifes truly remarkable by actually taking action.

Anyone can preach. Anyone can teach. The question is: Can you once and for all go for your life and live the best moment you can every possible moment? I, for one, do my best to do just that. It's also, I believe, the solution to lifes problems.
